With only 5 weeks remaining (eek!) of my Beauty Therapy Course, I thought I’d share my experiences so far. I have been asked a couple of questions regarding time-management, costs and topic coverage -hope some of you find it useful!
For those that don’t know, I am currently studying a VTCT Fast Track Beauty Therapy Level 2 Adult College Course alongside a full-time office-based job. The course covers the following areas; Health & Safety, Facial, Eyelash Tinting/Perming, Hair Removal (Waxing), Manicure, Pedicure and Make-Up Techniques. It is a fab course for those wishing to learn a new vocation and to progress further in to the Beauty Therapy industry. My Course takes place every Saturday during the Academic Year from 9.00 - 16.00 and is largely practical based. I paid £800 to attend, but I am aware that there is help in terms of college funding, for those who may have difficulties. In terms of time management, I have found it a little challenging managing the (unexpected) workload, whilst working full-time and buying a house, but it hasn’t been a big enough struggle to put me off doing it again in the future. I must stress that it definitely isn’t an easy, laidback course as perceived - body anatomy is featured in a large proportion of the exams and the workload is pretty intense!
Most people wonder why I decided to enrol onto a Beauty Course after a long 3-year slog of studying a Business Degree at University. The Beauty Industry has always been a big interest of mine, and I hope to one day use my degree alongside a beauty profession. Beauty is a skill no one can ever take away from you and it is in an industry that is consistently growing. If you are debating whether or not to take the plunge into a Beauty or other Adult College Course, then I say go for it!
