Cosmopolitan Blend Perfection Sponge | Beauty Blender Dupe

Cosmopolitan’s Blend Perfection Sponge is raved about in the blogosphere for being a dupe of the highly rated Beauty Blender. Sponge application was always my preferred method of foundation application when I was younger, but my attention was drawn elsewhere when I became more interested in experimenting with makeup. After reading countless reviews from fellow bloggers, stating Cosmo’s sponge as a Holy Grail product, I popped it into my online basket on FeelUnique without hesitation.

Using a bouncing or stippling method, the Blend Perfection Sponge promises to create a seamless, flawless, blended finish with no visible streaks. The sponge is expertly shaped for precision blending around the nose and delicate eye area. Before use, simply rinse the sponge under running water and squeeze out any excess.

I have completely fallen in love with this make-up sponge, and haven’t used anything else to apply my foundation since purchasing it! It really does do what it states on the box - my make-up base looks flawless and I have had several comments asking what products I am using on my face - winner!

Beauty Wishlist #1

Paul and I are currently in the final stages of buying our first home together, so let’s just say money is bit tight! Below are a handful of my current beauty wishes that I hope to purchase over the next few months! Enjoy!

1. MAC 217 Blending Brush RRP £18.00 - This brush has fine, densely packed fibres that are great for shading/blending eye shadows. It is a staple brush in most MUA’s collection and is a bloggers favourite.

2. Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Relief Cream RRP £37.00- I have read great things about this little pot of goodness from sufferers of red, sensitive skin and it is one of Cliniques best sellers. It claims to soothe and relieve visible and persistent redness and overtime helps improve skin comfort - sold!

3. Benefit They’re Real Mascara RRP £19.50 - This mascara doesn’t really need an explanation as it is widely known for its full volume effect. I am a lover of thick black lashes so looking forward to trying it out.

4. BH Cosmetics 120 Pallete (First Edition) RRP £16.95- This is BH Cosmetics first and best selling 120 colour eyeshadow palette. As make-up is one of the modules I am studying at College, I am eager to experiment with different make-up looks using a bargain palette.

5. Essie’s Jazzy Jubilant Luxe Nail Polish RRP £7.99 - As a self confessed glitz lover, this polish will not shock or surprise. I already rave about Models Own - Ibiza Mix, but you can never have too many glittery nail polishes right?!

Garnier Olia Permanent Hair Colour

I very rarely divert away from my favourite dependable Nice ‘n’ Easy hair dye, but when I saw that Garnier had released an Ammonia Free home colour range, I decided to give it a go (for my hairs sake!). As a natural blondie, I like to use a root touch up every 4-6 weeks in 2-3 shades lighter than my natural colour. I had a little look on their website at the 21 different shades they offer, and used the colour selector tool to match myself up - Very Light Blonde.

Olia is the first oil-powered home hair colourant that promises a vivid permanent colour without the use of ammonia. The modern drop-shaped bottle is very easy to handle and provides a smooth, controlled application. The texture is something I haven’t seen before - a sweet smelling yoghurt formula which doesn’t give a tingly sensation to the scalp (something which I have experienced a lot). I sectioned off my hair and liberally applied to my roots, before working it through the rest of my hair. After the recommended time, I gently massaged the colour (just like a shampoo) in order to release the concentrated flower oils and followed it up with the provided conditioner.

After use, I couldn’t have been happier with the results - not only had the colour completely removed the existing yellow tones in my hair, but gave the look of multi-tone highlights which peeked through in natural light. My hair feels silky smooth, strong and healthy and it is great knowing I have touched up my hair without the use of ammonia. This fab boxed beauty will definitely be repurchased in the next few weeks!

OOTN | Manchester, Deansgate

All lined up giggling in our disposable bra and thong sets, my fellow classmates and I spent an eventful afternoon learning the application techniques of spray tanning. Just to be on the safe side, I picked out the lightest Sienna X shade available - check out my instagram where you can see me a little amused with the mucky guide colour!

Later on that evening, Paul and I made our way to Manchester for a friend’s birthday. We had some Mexican food & cocktails in Lucha Libre (bar/restaurant), before making our way down to the Deansgate Locks. I thought I’d share with you a couple of snaps that I took on my iPhone before we set off - enjoy!

The Tanya Burr Collection

Hands up who hasn’t made a purchase of #TanyaBurrLipsAndNails?

After endlessly browsing and comparing colours on the Feel Unique and other bloggers websites to make a decision on which purchase of Tanya Burr’s lip and nail collection I would make, I opted for Picnic in the Park. I was super happy with my decision after she included it in her most recent YouTube video (My Spring Everyday Makeup Tutorial) and couldn't wait for it to be delivered.

The lovely Tanya Burr has naturally luscious lips which makes any lipstick/gloss/stain look incredible. I, on the other hand, have extremely fine lips that I usually like to line with darker colours to make them appear much fuller. I went with the slightly shimmery pink shade as I felt it would be a great colour to include in my makeup bag as we make that transition from Winter and into Spring - woohoo!

Let’s start with their scent - oh em gee I have been tempted to lick them off my lips, they smell that good. The consistency is thick, extremely pigmented and long lasting which helps create an even application without being too sticky. She has opted to release a wide colour range to suit all tastes and the packaging is marked with thecutest names. Her debut collection also includes an array of nail polishes which I am yet to try.

I am so excited to see what make-up venture is next in line for Tanya Burr - she really is a true inspiration.
